Before Mason was born I knew just a few things about how I was going to parent. I knew that I wasn’t going to cosleep or have him sleep directly on me because of the dangers I had heard about doing that. The last thing I wanted was to harm my baby. And now here I am to let you know that I did both those things. For the first few months Mason exclusively slept on my chest. I was pretty much banned to the living room. Once Mason was finally sleeping for a little bit longer periods of time we moved him into his bedroom into the bassinet that we had been given. It didn’t work out all that well because we quickly learned that he was a very aggressive sleeper when he wasn’t on me. He made so much noise kicking and moving around that it was very disruptive to our sleep.
Then in came the Snuggle Me Organic lounger. It was seriously a game changer for us. I started out by having Mason sleeping in the lounger in between Justin and I. Unfortunately we only have a queen size bed and so it was getting a little tight. One night I tried to see if the Snuggle Me Organic lounger would fit into our Halo bassinet. It wasn’t too long after that, that Justin was ready to have Mason move into his nursery. I wasn’t quite ready for that change but I totally understood knowing that Justin needed to have the best sleep possible seeing as he wakes up so early every day for work. To make the transition easier I put his Snuggle Me Organic lounger in his crib. Until Mason turned six months he had been sleeping that way and it worked out great. It was a much smoother transition than I thought it would be. And I contribute that to the fact that he likes his Snuggle Me Organic lounger so much. I was sad to have to take it away once he started rolling over and was past six months old.
On my first weekend away with Mason, he was maybe five months old, I brought his lounger with us for him in the hotel. His sleep wasn’t affected at all. You never know as a new mom if a change in scenery like that would affect him or not but again I think because I had the lounger he was very comfortable staying in the hotel room. He slept great so mama slept great making the trip to wine country that much more enjoyable!
