I’m sure you can tell by now that my focus this summer and during quarantine has been to turn our outdoor spaces into additional living and entertaining spaces. We’re trying to make the most of our time at home and finally turn our attention towards upgrading our outdoor areas to elevate our outdoor living and the curb appeal of our home. So I figured I would share some of my recent inspiration for beautiful outdoor living spaces, in the front and backyard.
I have had a Beautiful Outdoor Living Spaces Pinterest board going for the past few years. We have pulled inspiration from there as we’ve made decisions about updating everything. Our concrete driveway has been complete for over a month now but I finally got around to sealing the concrete so it has a wet look all the time. I haven’t posted a before and after yet because it won’t be 100% done until we install our artificial lawn. And before we can get around to doing that we need to pour our fence posts, lay down weed barrier and gopher wire, and put a layer of decomposed granite. So, it might be some time till I can get to share the final reveal! But that doesn’t mean that I can’t start sharing some of the beautiful outdoor living spaces with you that I love and pull inspiration from. When it comes to home decor, interior design, and my DIY’s I get a lot of inspiration from Pinterest along with design magazines and home renovation shows on HGTV as well as real estate shows.
I love the look of egg chairs and have been trying to figure out where we can put one. I’ve considered putting one on our front porch after we install our front fence and get our artificial grass in. But then I’ve also considered getting two and putting them on the front lawn. My third idea is to add one egg chair in the area where we already have our outdoor wood furniture that I recently refinished to make it more cozy and add extra seating.

I love these outdoor accent chairs! I found very similar ones when I started looking for wicker accent chairs and so when I saw this backyard seating area on Pinterest I had to pin it for later.

I so wish we had a backyard big enough for a pool but alas we do not. But the concrete walkway with grass in between is exactly like the inspiration for driveway. Granted we laid ours out as large squares and not diamonds but I love this for a backyard too.
I love these wicker swings. Now that we have our wood pergola all done and I’ve added cafe lights it would be so fun to hand a wicker swing or two…if we had space for it!

I love everything about this backyard living setup. I am highly contemplating adding baskets with plants on the exterior of our house because they look so good here. I am a fan of the cafe lights as I’m sure you could figure out. I also love the tile. We aren’t going to put tile down because we already have brick but I am here for the vibe of this outdoor living space.

String lights, wall hanging plants, and layered pillows, all the things I am enjoying about this patio design.
I absolutely adore this backyard setup for family movie nights. While our backyard area where I want to do outdoor movie nights is much smaller I still get such great inspiration from this.
I am living for all the greenery on this back porch living area. The wood slats are super fun too!
I love the layered outdoor rug look and the mix of materials in this backyard patio. It looks super cozy and inviting. Something I am hoping our patio furniture area will turn out to be. But I’m thinking about adding round area rugs to better match our brick patio design.
Another great use of cafe string lights. I absolutely love the ambiance they provide and plan on adding them in more places then just on our wood pergola.
