I had been trying to decide on a theme for our shared room/nursery for Mason and our new baby for the past few weeks and when I couldn’t decide on my own I decided to ask Mason what he would want. After giving him a few different options he quickly decided on a safari theme. I think it was definitely the right choice to let him decide since he’s sharing the room and I want him to feel like it’s still his room too. So while this room isn’t a dedicated nursery I still think everything that I’ve picked so far definitely works for a safari themed nursery as well as for a kids room.
I have had a lot of fun these past few days pulling inspiration and products for their shared safari themed nursery/bedroom and wanted to share with you all the products and decor I am thinking of using to pull off this theme for their shared bedroom.
The biggest project we need to do in their room is install a new functional closet which we’ve already settled on a design using Ikea’s Pax system. I’ve got some ideas on how to make it feel more custom and I can’t wait to show you the before and after’s. Luckily, my dad has offered to help demo and build the closet for us since we still have so much left to do on our projects outside in the front and backyard before baby boy arrives.
I’ve included some of the inspirational images I found that helped me narrow down my idea for the direction of their room. Let me know what you think about the Safari room theme!
