Here's the thing about Hunter rain boots, they last FOREVER!!! I've had mine since probably 2008. In the Bay Area there aren't too many opportunities to wear them since the weather is typically really nice, of course lately with El Niño it's been raining a ton, which we need, so I am super happy. So because I knew I was going to be wearing my Hunter Boots a lot more often I wanted to bring them back to their natural rubber boot shine. I wasn't sure if that was even possible, but it looked like so many people I know who have had their ... Read more...
DIY Full Length Mirror
I want to start by saying a big thank you to Ace Hardware who sponsored my DIY project and this post. Justin and I have been doing nothing but DIY projects lately and this project was on my list of things to do. Before and After: Brick Patio Addition DIY
When Justin and I bought our house in September of last year we saw so much potential in our little fixer upper. We've been making slow but good progress on the house starting with a mini kitchen remodel, reclaimed wood accent wall, doing some IKEA hacks to glam up some bookcases for my closet, and more recently building an outdoor shower. When my husband left for a three week trip for the Marine Corps I got busy working on a very special project. Even though Justin's 30th birthday isn't until September this was the only time I would have to pull of such a surprise. You can't really be working on the house and say, "honey don't come around the corner," for weeks on end because he's bound to turn the corner to see what I'm up to. If there's one thing my husband loves more than anything at his parents house it would have to be their outdoor shower. It used to be the hot ... Read more...
DIY: Reclaimed Wood Wall
One trend that I've seen all over the place, from homes to offices to restaurants is the reclaimed wood wall. I even did one in my office remodel a little over a year ago. I loved how it turned out so much that I really wanted to have one in our home. You can purchase reclaimed wood from a number of sites where you can select the look and source of the wood. We didn't have the budget to go that route and honestly I really wanted to do it ourselves so we opted for sourcing our own reclaimed wood. I went on craigslist and searched for ... Read more...
