Here’s the thing about Hunter rain boots, they last FOREVER!!! I’ve had mine since probably 2008. In the Bay Area there aren’t too many opportunities to wear them since the weather is typically really nice, of course lately with El Niño it’s been raining a ton, which we need, so I am super happy. So because I knew I was going to be wearing my Hunter Boots a lot more often I wanted to bring them back to their natural rubber boot shine. I wasn’t sure if that was even possible, but it looked like so many people I know who have had their Hunter boots for as long as I have, had kept theirs is next to new condition. So I asked the question, how could I get my old Hunter boots looking new again and thankfully my friends shared with me that Hunter makes their own boot shine to revitalize your worn in pair. I ordered both the shine sponge and buffer spray because I didn’t know if you needed to use both or just one of them. Turns out, all you really need is the sponge! { You’re welcome! 😉 }
Make sure you clean off any dirt or grim that may be on your boots with warm water and a clean cloth. Then take the sponge and go over your entire boots. I did them one and at time so that you could see the immediate difference. Then let them sit for a while, I did overnight just because I started them late in the evening and in the morning rubbed off any excess oil with a dry hand towel. And there you have it, with those simple steps you now know how to get old Hunter boots looking new again!
