It’s hard to believe yet another holiday is going to be spent social distancing or shelter in place depending on where you live. It was so hard not being able to spend Easter with our entire family. And now celebrating Mother’s Day during the height of this pandemic too, is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to those mothers who might live far away from their children or whose kids don’t live at home with them. For a holiday that celebrates moms and all that they do for their family, the one thing I can safely say mothers really want, way more than gifts, is to spend time with their family. And since that can’t be possible for all moms, I wanted to put together a quick list of Mother’s Day gifts that will surely brighten your mothers day!!
Mother’s Day gifts
A guide of Mother’s Day gifts that show you’re thinking about them and love them even while social distancing/shelter in place during COVID-19 pandemic.
1. FaceTime Call – This is seriously so simple and costs you NOTHING. I would plan time during Mother’s Day to call your mom, grandma, aunt, and anyone else who is a mom in your life that you love. This will bring so much joy to their day, I promise you that! And if you’re planning on buying them a gift to be sent to their home, I make sure delivery notifications are set up so you can call them after said gift arrives like flowers or something you order on Amazon Prime to be delivered on Sunday.
2. Send Flowers – Sending flowers on Mother’s Day is nothing new. But I urge you to get your orders in now. The closer we get to Mother’s Day I think flower delivery companies are going to get overwhelmed with orders. Plus with all the regulations surrounding COVID-19 this might impact the amount of flowers being able to be delivered on one day. Also, as I was putting together this guide, I noticed some companies only will deliver on the Saturday before Mother’s Day or the Monday and sometimes not till Tuesday after…so plan accordingly.
Floral companies I recommend going with a why:
From You Flowers – They’re having a site wide sale for 15% off right now, including their Mother’s Day arrangements. They offer more than just floral arrangements, they also have gift baskets and plants you can send to mom.
ProFlowers / ProPlants – They have a lot of different arrangements to choose from as well as chocolate dipped strawberries, cookies, and more that you can have delivered right around Mother’s Day! They have something for everyones budget too.
Teleflora – I love that they use local florists to create and deliver your Mother’s flowers. They do put a disclaimer that there may be substitutions to the arrangements if the local florist doesn’t have on hand the exact flowers in your bouquet. And each bouquet has three options for different price points.
The Bouqs – They have beautiful and unique floral arrangements. I love that they source their flowers from local farmers all over the country and world supporting small and family run businesses. They have bouquets starting at $59. If you subscribe you can get 30% off!
UrbanStem – Beautiful floral arrangements, fast shipping, and great add on options like Sugarfina candy, Nest candles, or chocolate. They can deliver same day if you live in San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, or Miami or next-day nationwide which is pretty cool. But, as I mentioned above, I wouldn’t wait till the last minute to place your order for floral delivery!
3. Cozy at Home – Since everyone is staying home so much more than ever before, gift mom some cozy at home items to help make this time much more comfortable. Think socks, robes, jammies, eye masks, throw blankets, etc. Shop some of my top picks below!
4. Bring the Spa to her – Since you can’t gift mom a spa day that she can enjoy right away, why not bring the spa home to her! You could also support your local businesses at this time and purchase a gift card for her that she can use when businesses open back up. I know locally a number of spas are offering a discount on gift cards right now, letting your budget go a bit further.
I hope these gift ideas are helpful and that no matter your situation due to COVID-19, you are able to connect and show your love and appreciate this Mother’s Day! I’d love to know what you are planning on doing for your mom to brighten your mothers day!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!
