Upon return from the dry cleaners one of my favorite sweaters, pictured here and here, had three small holes {freaking out} There’s nothing they could do about it and he I was stuck with the fact that {sigh} I was probably going to have to take the lose and move on until…I got the bright idea to turn “lemons into lemonade” and make more holes so that I could continue to wear it!
I googled DIY hole sweater and this awesome YouTube video came up in my search.

Though my sweater wasn’t thrifted or “large gauge knit” it didn’t hurt to try. If it didn’t work out I was going to have to throw it away anyway, right?
Pulling the horizontal threads of the existing holes to create large shreds in the sweater.
Creating tension on the sweater while workings makes it easier to shred.
I tried the sweater on a few times during the process to make sure it was turning out alright.

It definitely doesn’t look like the shredded sweater in the Youtube video but at least its wearable!
