The last few years my mom and I have made a tradition of spending a day in Carmel Valley for my birthday. I love mother, daughter days and spending time with my mom is the best gift possible, especially since we are both so busy these days it’s harder to find time to get together. It’s crazy to think just a few short years ago, when I was living in SF that my mom and I had standing Wednesday dates. She’d drive up to the city and spend the entire day with me. Now we live closer and we see each other less. Crazy how work and life get in the way of family time. Anyway, this year we spent my birthday lunch at Bernardus. I was so excited to check it out since their renovations kept us away last year! It was an overcast day so we didn’t really feel like wine tasting, like we have done in the past and actually it worked out for the better. We needed up staying indoors enjoying their cozy fireplace over a leisurely lunch then spent the rest of the day lounging around the property at Bernardus.
