I recently had the opportunity to work on a photoshoot with a good friend of mine for her website. It’s always fun to work with friends and support each other in our endeavors. I selected a couple outfits that I felt would work well with her photography style, help tell a story, and that would be a great fit for her site.
Sometimes you shop for a tropical vacation and other times you dream of a tropical vacation when you’re out shopping, like when I purchased this free people dress the other day. The floral pattern of this Free People dress caught my eye, as soon as I spotted it, I knew I wanted to try it on. I don’t typically go for dresses with this type of sleeve. I think it’s a little too “flower child” for my usual style but I have to say that when dreaming of a tropical vacation, I think of wearing this dress. I guess I bought it because I have been thinking about Costa Rica. A friend and her husband have been living there for a little over two months now and my parents just got back from a two week vacation to Costa Rica. I haven’t been on a tropical vacation since my honeymoon two and a half years ago and I am just dying to jetset to a tropical island, to relax and rejuvenate myself. Doesn’t this dress scream, Hawaiian or Caribbean vacation? We shot this look in my back and side yard and it’s so cool to see how she was able to give the illusion that I was somewhere else, all through her photo style and lens.
