Eat, Shop, Do: Dallas

December 30, 2014

FacebookTwitterPinterestMixEmail

It’s so nice to meet other bloggers from other places and do some awesome collaborations. When I decided to start my Eat, Shop, Do series I thought what better way than to collaborate with some of my blogger friends and in the process learn more about them, where they live, and share with all of you their go-to’s in their city. For the next post in this series were headed to Dallas, Texas!

Meet Blair, Ellen, and Janie of The Perennial Style: The site of three sisters sharing a wardrobe and finding ways to express our individuality through our love of fashion. From small-town Alabama to the glitz and glamour of Dallas, our lives are fast-paced, fashionable, and always exciting. The Perennial Style is a way to share our passions and interests with our friends and family in hopes of inspiring others.

EAT

Mi Cocina – When it comes to Tex Mex, no one does it better than Mi Cocina. With their delicious cuisine and fabulous setting (HP Village location is our fav), Mi Co is always a must-stop spot for anyone! When dining, you MUST order a Mambo Taxi… but be sure to limit your intake of these delicious margs – they can be deceivingly deadly!

Lounge 31 – Just a few steps away from Mi Co, Bar 31 is the perfect happy hour spot for the fashionable female. Upstairs from all of the fabulous village shops, Bar 31 is the perfect outdoor spot for sushi and cocktails. Whether you come with girlfriends for HH or date night with the beau, this outdoor spot stays upbeat all night with delicious cocktails and upbeat music from the nightly DJ. One of our favorite evening spots – always a go-to!

Taverna – One of our favorite brunch spots. Endless mimosas and some of the delicious bites, Taverna is one of our favorite brunch spots – and brunch is definitely a must in Dallas! If you head over on a Saturday, don’t be surprised by a long line, so grab a mimosa and enjoy the vibes. Trust us, it will be worth it!

Javiers – Why go to a steakhouse when you can have Gourmet Mexicano cuisine in Dallas? Whether you choose to dine in the restaurant, enjoy a cigar in the cigar bar, or grab cocktails in the always hopping bar (Thursdays are our pick), Javis is a Dallas staple you must cross off the list. Menu item of choice: tenderloin of beef stuffed with Chihuahua cheese and butter.

** Best place for cocktails? The bar at the Mansion Hotel – Perfect setting complete with live jazz. LOVE.

SHOP

Highland Park Village – Think Rodeo Drive of Dallas. This high-end outdoor shopping complex is complete with every luxury store desirable. With stores like Saint Laurent, Christian Louboutin, Cucinelli, Alexander McQueen, and more, it’s the perfect spot to spend any afternoon!

Stanely Korshak Dallas

Stanley Korshak – This local Dallas department store is one of my personal favorites. From couture to contemporary, bridal to home, Korshak is your one stop shop for everything! On top of it’s amazing merchandise, Korshak is located in the beautiful Crescent in the heart of uptown – Can it get any better than that?

Neiman Marcus Dallas

Downtown Neiman Marcus – For anyone who appreciates Neiman Marcus, a visit to the flagship store is an absolute must! This multiple-story downtown department store is a shopaholic’s paradise. Though the shoe department and bridal suite are heavenly, the popovers at The Zodiac are just too delicious to miss!

STAY

Hotel ZaZa Dallas

Hotel ZaZa – This uptown boutique hotel is the perfect place for the trendy traveler. From the hip bar scene to the occasional ZaZa Sunday School (… think breakfast rave with a dancing panda…), ZaZa is an uptown must.

Rosewood Mansion

Mansion Hotel – This classic hotel is a Dallas favorite amongst any age group. The charming vibes and luxury setting makes it a coveted spot for locals and guests! With delicious restaurants, the beautiful spa, and our pick for cocktails (see above), this is always a recommended hotel!

The Joule Dallas

The Joule Hotel – The underrated downtown area gets a vast update with this trendy boutique hotel! Located across the street from the historic Neiman Marcus flagship, the Joule is an updated hotel we adore. Did we mention it was the location of the most recent rewardStyle conference in Dallas? Love.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed todays Travel Tuesday to Dallas, TX!

If I’m being honest tho, I didn’t really get to relax on our vacation. I’m a worrywart, and so being on a cruise 🚢 ship with a 2 year old and a 6 year old I had my worries. The first night I got no sleep as I had nightmare after nightmare about anything and everything that could go wrong on a ship with kids but in the end we had a great time and no one got hurt and no one went overboard.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who plays out every possible scenario about what could go wrong on vacation with kids!

Luckily they had a small splash pad area for babies in swim diapers. And I was fortunate enough to snag one of the daybeds each day so we weren’t in the direct sun ☀️ all day long!
