One dress style that is bound to work with your baby bump is a shirred dress. It doesn’t have to be maternity to fit either. I’ve gotten a good amount of wear out of some non-maternity clothes because the sides were shirred. If you aren’t sure what shirred means don’t worry, it’s just gathered fabric. One of my non-maternity shirred favorites is this one from Michael Stars. But this Summer & Sage version I’m wearing came to me in one of my Le Tote maternity boxes and boy is it comfortable. There is so much stretch and give that there’s no way this dress wouldn’t fit me, no matter how much larger my bump gets.
This dress has a simple design, modest hemline, and plenty of coverage. It looks fantastic with a number of my new Stella & Dot pieces from the Fall collection! I wore this a few weekends ago for the fashion show I emceed for at the Northridge Mall with the Boys and Girls club of Monterey County. I may have been a little nervous when I first got up there but feeling good about how I looked and felt made it easier for me to settle in and work it.
