I purchased this plaid shirtdress during Nordstrom’s anniversary sale. I knew right when I saw it that I’d be able to style it as a layering piece now and wear it as a shirtdress later once baby A has arrived. This dress is so wearable as an open top and styled under a denim jacket is super cute too for when it cools down a bit. I love that the slip for the dress is easily removable because there is no way that my bump is fitting into that right now!
Plaid is always perfect for Fall and a plaid shirtdress is a must have in your closet. I definitely didn’t want this one to get away from me and that’s why I bought it when I did; even though I knew it would be a while before I could wear it as a dress. Luckily, for you all it’s still available but probably not for long so snag it while you can! Convertible pieces are key for me right now. If I haven’t become a total broken record yet, it’s the main thing I have been looking for during my pregnancy when purchasing new pieces. This plaid shirtdress fit the bill and that’s why it came home with me. I’ve worn it a number of times so far but just getting around to posting it on the blog.
A key tip for all you mama’s-to-be is look for pieces with room for growth. Dresses with an a-line are perfect for pregnant bellies and so are shift dresses (depending on how far along you are). Being able to purchase a fully button-down dress is also great because you can wear it like a layering piece now and a dress later.
