Talbots isn’t the first place I thought to look for clothing for me. As a child I went shopping at Talbots with my mom so I always associated it with an older generation. But here’s the thing, I’m now the age that my mom was when she started shopping there. So, I was very intrigued when Talbots was interested in a collaboration with me. I immediately hopped online to check out their current offerings.
I’ve been struggling to find clothing that is cut to fit my postpartum body. After having Mason my body is definitely not the same. My hips shifted (as they tend to do with pregnancy) and my overall body is shaped a little different. The overall quality of their clothes is amazing and after seeing a few pieces that caught my eye online and when walking by their storefront one day I decided to go in. Yes, I was the youngest person in the store that day but, I found some pretty fall ready pieces that I truly loved. And because I wasn’t too familiar with their clothing it was great to try on some pieces in-store to see if the fit would work for my body.
This merino wool sweater was the first thing that caught my eye when I first scoped out their new arrivals on their website. The detailing on the neck is so pretty. The sweater feels amazing and fit incredibly too. The color selection is broad so there are lots of choices. I’m seriously considering buying this sweater in a few more colors. It’s perfect for layering because it’s a thin sweater. I hate sweaters that are too thick because I feel like they always make me feel that my jacket sleeves become too tight.
This coat was the second piece to get my attention. First off, it’s double wool and is the softest coat you will ever own! I want to wear it all the time now. It’s cozy and chic. The cut is very flattering and I love that it has a belt to help cinch your waist and give you some definition. Just like with the sweater, the coat isn’t thick or too bulky so it doesn’t add weight to you (I hope you know what I mean). I don’t wear coats often because I don’t like looking bigger than I actually am. Some coats tend to do that to you, but this one doesn’t.
These merlot cords are high waisted which is a MUST for me. I am so uncomfortable in any pants that aren’t high waisted. Mid-rise pants just hit me at the wrong spot, leaving me uncomfortable. One thing I need to point out about these pants is that there isn’t extra fabric in the front. I often have trouble with pants fitting me in the waist but then having a bit too much material in the crotch area. Since I don’t have a teeny tiny waist and wide hips that’s always been an issue for me. These pants fit great and the color couldn’t be more perfect for fall. They also come in a wide range of colors.
So here’s the best part about shopping at Talbots for your fall style, right now they’re having their Friends and Family Event!
