For last weekend’s Afternoon Tease event I decided to wear my Tibi leather full midi skirt, now on major sale. There are not too many events in the Bay Area, Peninsula to be specific, where you can get this dressed up in the afternoon. It turns out that I got the memo without even knowing it because the other fashion bloggers I met who attended the event were all wearing the exact same thing, a full midi skirt, blouse, and Valentino’s. I love how classic chic and girlie this look is. This high waist full midi skirt is super versatile and even though the hemline hits me mid-calf it doesn’t make me look short, one of the usual petite girl problems. I bet you wouldn’t have guessed it but my blouse is actually a dress. If you can recall, (last season at NYFW) I wore this dress with a belt making it almost look like a matching separates outfit and paired it with my Chanel navy and gold pumps. My large pearl cluster necklace always adds a feminine touch and is totally on point for a girlie afternoon/Galentines day event. I don’t wear monotone outfits all that often but I couldn’t resist putting this together. Dark green is the new black, not Orange (sorry Orange is the New Black, still love the show though.) I never really had much dark green in my wardrobe until I got these Valentino Rockstuds for Christmas. Now it seems to be a color I gravitate towards often when I’m out shopping for new clothes. Funny how that works. It’s kind of like when you buy a new car or are in the market for getting a new car and you have a specific model in mind. Whenever you’re on the road you seem to see that same car driving way more than you ever had before. I know that’s a strange analogy but it works. Now that I have my dark green rockstuds I’m see so many pieces that would work perfectly with it. Now this shade of green it a total neutral so I am not limited to the range of colors I can pair with it but doesn’t it look nice being paired with the same color family?
