Historically the biggest shopping day of the year has been Black Friday. To be honest I have never stepped foot into a store on Black Friday. Why might you ask, well I much prefer to have a stress free shopping experience. I’m somewhat claustrophobic so the thought of pushing my way through hundreds of people just to get a specific item a few bucks cheaper doesn’t really appeal to me, I’d rather pay full price! Yes, it may mean that the coveted item is sold out the weekend after Thanksgiving but it doesn’t mean it will be out of stock forever, and if it does will you really remember that one item you didn’t get by the time the holidays roll around? Maybe? I think not. There are too many great things all year round that I want that missing out on one, two, or even three of those items definitely saves my pocketbook and for that I am thankful!
But to get back to the topic of this post, what’s the difference between Black Friday vs Cyber Monday? Both are excellent days to wipe a bunch of people off your gift giving list. With deals all over the place you are bound to find what you are looking for and what you are not on discount. Over the years Black Friday has turned into a multi-day shopping experience. Unlike Cyber Monday which was originally a one day event followed by Giving Tuesday which balances out the self indulgence, right? Honestly when I think about these holiday shopping events, they are just another excuse to go out and buy things, and honey I don’t need an excuse! 😉
Year round my inbox is full with daily discounts to be had at my favorite retailers. Some exclusive discount days for myself and others anyone can participate in. So why the frenzy for these few days, its tradition I suppose. Now that Black Friday starts on Wednesday for some retailers and other start on Thanksgiving and run through the weekend, and can even be enjoyed from the comfort of your home (score!). Cyber Monday even spans a few days if not the week following Thanksgiving. All I can say is that it allows shoppers to get the experience of shopping for the holidays without having to worry about stampedes! Enough, blah blah blah, here are the Black Friday sales I’m hitting up from the comfort of my sofa, wrapped up in a soft blanket, sipping my non-fat latte, and relaxing before my birthday celebration begins!
