In the past I have had so much luck with buying clothes on Amazon. You’ve loved my try-on sessions and hauls so I was excited to share a Fall Amazon haul. I have to be honest, I was disappointed when my order started to arrive. Two of my sweaters arrived in vacuum sealed packaging and so they were not only so stiff but also had a slight smell to them. I immediately hung them up to try and get some of the lines and marks out as well as air them out so the smell would go away.
I found a sweater dress I had ordered in the past on Amazon, in new colors but instead of confirming it was the exact same brand I just ordered it. And that my friends was a miss right off the bat. That’s one thing I HAVE to mention about shopping on Amazon. A lot of the brands/shops use the same images as each other but the quality isn’t always the same. Sometimes, even the material does not match the image. That’s the case with this cobalt blue sweater dress I was so excited about. I still felt like sharing it, since it was part of this haul.
One thing I NEED you to know is I will never say I really like something if I don’t. Or say that something is worth the money if it isn’t. If the quality is poor, you know I’ll mention it. So here it is, my HONEST opinion on everything I got from my latest Fall Amazon Haul.
Fall Cardigans and Ponchos
This fuzzy leopard print cardigan is definitely oversized. It’s a grandpa style cardigan and so it’s not only thick but very wide. I’m wearing a size small. This cardigan is offered in a number of prints but the smallest size is a size small. I definitely think that they should make a size xs in this cardigan. While I’m a big fan of the fuzzy material and print, I was impressed with the overall fit. I have a number of cardigans that I like the fit of more, so I decided not to keep this. The cardigan is only $29 so if you are in the market for a fuzzy cardi I’d say this is a great oversized option for the price!
This open knit cardigan caught my eye almost immediately when scrolling through Amazon. I’ve been looking for a cardigan like this and I loved the color. It does come in lots of other colors too but I really liked this shade of dusty pink for fall. I will say that I was disappointed in the feel of the cardigan. It wasn’t nearly as soft as I had hoped. I’m wearing a size small and it fits oversized as I expected. While the price is super reasonable at $35 I would have hoped it would feel a little better. The quality of the knit is ok but not worth keeping for me.
So this poncho is super cute. It’s way too oversized for me at a one size fits all. If you’re petite like me, it’s going to be super long and a bit overwhelming. I love a good poncho but at the same time, unless it really fits perfectly for me, its not worth it for the amount of time I’ll actually get to wear it. Mom life doesn’t really work too well with poncho life. Can you just picture me running after Mason with his poncho on my back? Yeah, me neither! It would literally fall right off as soon as I started running. Anyway, I’m still a sucker for ponchos and so I really wanted to love it. And in some sense I do. I think that if you’re taller this would be perfect! It comes in loads of combos and the quality is really good for the price! I’s just under $22. So even if you’re a mom and will only wear it sans kids, it’s worth the money. What do you think?!
Fall Sweaters
Distressed sweaters are definitely on trend and I already know that they’re going strong in Spring 2020. So when I saw this cute one on Amazon I wanted to give it a try. I have to say I was definitely disappointed and for a few reasons. First, it looks like the sweater is off the shoulder but when it arrived it was such a high v and without totally stretching it out I could get it slightly off one shoulder. The second issue I have with the sweater is the distressing on the bottom. I’d much prefer it be an irregular hem like in the pictures but instead it was much more dramatic and looked too mass produced. And I know what you’re probably thinking, everything from Amazon is mass produced, but I still want distressing to look authentic.
You all know how much I love leopard print, well animal print in general so when I saw this under $23 pullover I had to give it a try. First off, it comes in lots of color options and a few different prints. I will say that the print on the photos of the model wearing the pullover is definitely not the same as what you get. If you check out the customer reviews some of them do have photos and you are able to get a better sense for what they will really look like. I always hate when they use photos of clothes they are trying to copy but don’t actually produce the same. For someone who may not be aware of where some of these product images are coming from it is misleading. I’d say the quality isn’t great. The sweater doesn’t feel soft or cozy and the screen print is not for me. I plan to share some affordable leopard print pullovers that are closet approved. This one did go back.
As with everything else I ordered, I’m wearing a size small in this sweater. I liked the color block stripes when I saw it online but when it arrived and I tried it on, I just wasn’t feeling the combo. The material is super lightweight and the sweater feels super cheap. It’s only $25 and so the price is good but I feel like it will snag super easy so you may only get a few wears out of it before it doesn’t look good anymore.
Now this orange color block sweater I really like. The wide sleeves and thick cuff are working for me and I love how it’s color blocked. This is the perfect fall sweater and also comes in a green option too. I’m wearing a size small. Definitely need to find my steamer to get the creases out. This one was vacuum sealed and so the creases are pretty deep. I let this sweater hang for a few days before my try on hoping the would fall out a bit, but they did not. At just under $30 I think this sweater is worth it. It’s definitely not as long as they make it look in the picture. I have a shorter torso and I feel like it hits me at a good spot but definitely isn’t as long or oversized as shown.
This is the last sweater I ordered for this try on and it’s definitely longer than most of the others I received. I’m all about stripes and colorblocking, can’t you tell?! Well this combo looked cuter online. I don’t know what it was about the camel/tan color with the orange and blue but it just didn’t go. I think it looked lighter/more muted online and so when the colors were brighter and more vibrant I was a little surprised. This sweater comes in a number of color combos though, so you might have better luck with a different one. It feels really nice and cozy. If it wasn’t so bold I probably would have kept it. I almost did anyway just for lounging at home but then realized how many options I already own, and figured I should just return it.
Fall Dresses
How cute is this dress?! You all know I love tie front dresses. I own a number of them already but really liked the sleeves on this one and all the colors it comes in. I’m wearing a size small and it fits great. The dress is only $24 and a total steal. It’s perfect for fall and into winter. I have a number of items from this Amazon fashion brand and so I was almost 100% positive going into it that this dress would work. It is on the mini side, so it’s more for date nights than daytime. But I can definitely see myself pairing this dress with OTK boots and booties and tights as it continues to cool down.
So this is the dress I referenced to at the beginning of the post. I have this same style in a sage green but it most definitely is sweater material and for the price was such good quality. This one the other hand feels cheap. The design is still cute and it fits great but I was expecting the same sweater material as my other one and I was greatly disappointed when this arrived. So you all don’t end up making the same mistake as I did, I’m linking the original dress (here) that actually is a sweater dress and not a thin nylon/poly version of the dress. The color options are a bit more limited but in my opinion is so much better than this option.
So there you have it! It was a long post but I tried on so many pieces for fall hoping to score big with some major wins, but in the end this go round was a lot more misses than wins. Do you agree with my decisions on each piece or do you think I missed the mark?! I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Also, would love to know what your favorite piece was from this haul!
