I had the opportunity to preview VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa in San Jose prior to the Grand Opening on March 5th. It truly is a resort-style fitness center where you can easily spend your whole day.. As a little reminder, we just moved to San Jose temporarily for the next five months while my husband attends Santa Clara County Fire’s, Fire Academy. While looking for a fitness center, the biggest thing for me is daycare. Since I’m with Mason full time the only way I’d get to work out is if daycare is provided.
VillaSport is a very family-friendly club and I loved all the amenities geared towards kids and families. You can tell right away when you walk through their club that they really have thought about everything. They have family changing rooms so that parents can bring their kids in with them, from infants all the way to 12 years old. For adults who may not want to be around children, they have separate women’s and men’s locker rooms as well.
There is a special walk in pool perfect for families that you can access right off the locker room and even a dedicated nursing room which is such a great touch. There is also an outdoor pool with water slides, a family friendly pool/lap pool plus an adults-only area which includes a bar!
They have VillaKids which is their daycare center. It’s huge and has so much to offer children. There are areas dedicated to younger children and then special rooms for kids four and up where they rotate the activities they do each day and week so if you want to take a specific fitness class each week your kids won’t get bored with the same activities. This center looks nicer than a lot of daycares and with their family memberships you get 2.5 hours of daycare a day that you can use. No cap on hours per month so you can drop your kiddos off daily to give yourself that much needed mom break!
All the workout equipment is upstairs including all the different fitness studios. Everything is brand new and there were a number of machines I’d never seen before which were a lot of fun to try out. Their Pilates studio is amazing and I love that they chose to go with bamboo flooring in the yoga/bar studio. It’s very padded and felt really great just walking on. Their TRX studio has everything you could need and want. I really love how each space felt like it was designed for the purpose of the space and it really felt like you were in a studio that was dedicated to Pilates rather than a Pilates class that was in a gym (hope that made sense).
Even with all that, I realize I haven’t even gotten to one of my favorite spots yet which was the spa. I was treated to a 30 minutes sports massage which was awesome! My masseuse Benjamin did a great job. I could definitely see myself dropping in for a spa service or two while Mason spends some time in VillaKids. The spa even has some fun events planned like ladies night out at the spa. There’s even a couple’s massage room. Their spa services are extensive, not what you would expect from a typical fitness club. Plus, VillaSport has abroad range of services including manicures and pedicures, oxygen facials, and any type of massage you could think of.
I also must mention that you don’t have to be a member to take advantage of their spa services though of course membership has its perks! There is so, so much more I could say about VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa but I’ll let you experience it for yourself and find out why a membership at this fitness club would be a total game changer for your health, fitness, family, and lifestyle!
You are always welcome to stop in and check out the club and see what a resort-style fitness center is all about! The club is located at 1167 North Capitol Avenue in San Jose.
A huge thank you to VillaSport for hosting me at their club for the day and allowing me to really experience what VillaSport is all about and for sponsoring this post! And as always, thank you for stopping by the blog today!!
