Many of you might have already thought that I must be a shopaholic, seeing as I am a fashion blogger, and you’re right. I love fashion, and I love sharing fashion with you through my outfit posts and trips to New York Fashion Week. But today I wanted to change it up from my usual outfit post, or current home DIY project, since that’s been my main focus these days being a home owner and all, to share with you some things I have been thinking about lately. I think there’s a huge misconception out there about fashion bloggers. We must all be super wealthy to be able to afford all those clothes or that everything we wear is gifted to us. In some cases that is true. There are fashion bloggers out there who are super wealthy, before their blog and some due to their blog, and do get a ton of clothes gifted to them and/or paid to wear a specific article of clothing.
But that’s not me. At least not at this stage in my career. I’m like any other girl who has expensive taste but has to be realistic, stay within a budget, and therefore cannot buy every piece of clothing I want. During a recent shopping trip to Neiman Marcus, something very usual happened, I selected a ton of clothes to try on, I was looking for some new spring items to purchase with a gift card I had, and after trying on everything, making my yes, maybe, and definitely no piles I was being super indecisive. When you have a budget you’re working with it can sometimes be really hard to decide what to spend it on.
Do you go with purchasing classic or basic pieces that can be worked into your current wardrobe or do you go for bright, bold prints and/or stand alone pieces?
Do you buy a complete outfit or do you pick up different pieces you have been wanting to have?
Do you splurge on something you would normally not spend a lot of money on, or buy what you know you need?

Do you splurge on something you would normally not spend a lot of money on, or buy what you know you need?
I also do want to let you know that on this specific shopping trip, I went into it knowing exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to get a two-piece matching set for Spring, a new silk white blouse, and maybe even a sleeveless vest. While I found all of those items, not a single one of those pieces was inexpensive and therefore I had an even harder time deciding what to get. Call me crazy but for some reason, I think it’s even harder for me to decide when it’s a gift card. I try and remind myself it’s free money, but I want to make sure I’m really getting the best option with that money, since after all it was a gift.
So now I bet you’re wondering did I end up with any of those things on my list? The answer is No.
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect two-piece set since the ones I tried on either I didn’t like how one of the two pieces fitted or they just weren’t figure flattering for me. Why is it always so hard to find what you’re looking for, when you’re looking for it?!
I hope you enjoyed this post and if so please let me know as I am trying to share more of myself through the blog as well as write about topics that resonate with my readers. So if there is something you are dying to know more about in the realm of fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and home decor/DIY let me know!
