The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early access kicked off on Thursday. I already posted my top picks for the sale in each category and my tips on prepping and shopping the sale. I wanted to take you into the dressing room with me to share some of the pieces I tried on. When I walked through each departments early access area some items popped out at me that I didn’t really take notice of when I was browsing the sale online. So I wanted to share those with you along with fit, quality, and feel. Let get straight to it because I’ve got a lot I want to share.
I saw this top online and instantly loved the cold shoulder detail! I wasn’t sure how it would fit or if the ruffles would rise up if you moved your arms so I didn’t purchase it in advance of coming in to try it on. I’m happy to report the ruffles stayed in place and I loved the top! I’m wearing a size small. It’s flowy which I love and not at all see through.
These Rebecca Minkoff ankle boots are so cute. I love the blush pink suede and grommet detail. I just wish they were a little narrower in the ankle. I felt like I was going to walk out of them, even though I didn’t. On the plus, they are super easy to slip in and out of! They fit true to size (TTS).
So I saw this Cupcakes and Cashmere top online and while the print looked cute I wasn’t thinking this would be a must-have item. I pulled it in a size small. I love the small ruffle detail on the elbow crease of the bell sleeve. I like that this top is a little cropped so it’s not too long. These Frame Denim side zipper jeans were on my wishlist and they sure didn’t disappoint!!! The color is definitely a lot less blue then how the pictures online make them seem. I’d say they run TTS. I’m still not back to pre-baby weight/body so I’ve been mostly wearing size 26 jeans now and the 26’s fit me perfectly.
This top by Joie is so pretty. Again, with the sleeve detail. I’m all about those extra details this Fall. I tried it on in a size small and I definitely needed the XS. I will say for the most part now as a default I’ve been reaching for size small since my chest is still so much bigger than it was before Mason but I’m finding that in most brands I’m actually able to get away with wearing the XS and there’s still room. I love these black high waist jeans from Frame Denim. They might be my new favorite denim brand. They just seem to fit me so well. I’m wearing a size 26 again and they’re snug but perfect! I also love the frayed edge high-low detail.
These booties are so cute! I had been eyeing them as soon as I received the NSale catalog. I haven’t purchased any shoes yet from the sale but do have these and a few others on my “sale for later” in my Nordstrom account. They fit TTS. I’m wearing a size 6. With so many jeans still having the high-low detail it will be easy to show these beauties off!
So this top comes in 5 colors/patterns if I’m not mistaken. I wanted to try it on because again it has a cute sleeve detail. Bows are big and I grabbed so many tops with bows. This one is a small and fit loosely. I probably could have gotten the XS and it might have fit a little better. I do like the idea of tucking it into a pair of jeans or high waist skirt.
This Treasure & Bond kimono is so cute. I love that it has a pajama look to it but the print definitely makes it perfect for daytime dressed down with jeans and embellished flats or dressed up for going out with black skinny pants and heels. I tried this Madewell top underneath just so I had an easy neutral. The Kimono is very oversized. I tried it on in an xs/small and it was very roomy.
I haven’t bought a pair of Cole Haan boots in a really long time. They’re made so well and are super comfortable but are definitely an investment. When I saw these booties I knew I had to try them on. I’m wearing a size 6 and they fit perfectly. I love the crisscross-textured stretch panels on the back of the booties. It makes it super easy to get them on and off since there is no zipper. They’re on sale for $160 but will be going up to $250 once the sale is over so if you love them now would be the time to get them!
The lace detail on this sleeves blouse is just so pretty. I hadn’t really thought it would be something I would want in my closet until I saw it in person. I loved the detail when I saw it online but the fit is really nice and knew I had to share it with you all but when hunting to share the best of the sale online with you all does not mean that it is all coming home with me. I have a budget I have to stick to just like everyone else!
Love the bow detail and open slits in the sleeves of this blouse. I got it in an XS petite since I know that this brand runs a little large (or maybe really TTS since it’s looking like more and more brands I’m back to fitting into an XS top). I have another blouse from them that I got a little while ago and purchased the same size XS petite. I must say, as much as I love all the details going on, the blouse was too long for me even in the petite so I suggest unless you have a longer torso or if you plan on tucking it int to a pencil skirt for work to pass.
These faux pearl embellished slides gave me all the heart eyes when I saw them in the catalog. The embellished shoes have been on trend lately and I’ve been wanting one with pearls. These shoes would pair perfectly with the kimono above. I’ve got them in my shopping cart and I am just waiting to see if I want to add anything else to my second online order before hitting purchase. PS they fit TTS. These are a size 6 and they couldn’t be more perfect!
If you checked my Insta Stories Thursday then you would have seen me trying on this exact top in cream and black polka dots. I loved this top so much that I had to try it on in another print. The cream version was a bit sheer but I loved it. This fall floral is a great option and is not see-through at all. I’m contemplating buying it in this print too. It’s only $32 during the sale so not a huge hit to the wallet to buy two 😉
Here’s another top by Joie. I love the dual prints going on, on the front of this top. The sleeve detail is subtle but cute. I’m wearing it in a small and I think it fits well. If you work in an office this would be a great top to pair with slacks or a skirt for work and can easily be worn on the weekends with jeans.
I’m a big fan of Nike and their Juvenate SE sneakers. I already have them in grey but I think I need them in black. They fit true to size. These are a size small and fit perfectly. They’re super comfortable for everyday wear but also function great for working out!
Now why I saw this sweatshirt I thought “how cute,” but probably not worth the money, even on sale for under $30 but then I tried it on. Oh my gosh it’s comfortable!!! Now all I need is a brunette bestie that can wear the matching sweatshirt with me every time we’re together!
This mock turtleneck bow blouse took me by surprise. I saw it online and thought that could be really pretty if you work in an office but I kind of looked past it since that’s not my current situation. Now when I saw it in store I decided it was worth a try-on since I did really love the bow. I have a thing with bows if you haven’t noticed yet. I still think this would be best for an office setting but tucked into a skirt or pants this could be great for going out with the girls.
These Toms peep toe booties are not new. They had the same pair in different colors last year and possibly even the year before that. I’ve had my eye on them for a while, before the Anniversary Sale but have never pulled the trigger on them. I was glad I tried them on because these are a size 6 but I feel there’s a little too much room in the toe. It comes in two colors for the sale and are definitely worth the price tag since they are so comfortable!
This top was another one of those that I saw online but didn’t really take notice until I saw it in person. I love the lace details and the top fit me really nicely. Again, great for work. I’m wearing a size XS. I took both an XS and small in because when I took the small off the rack and held it up to me it looked really big but, as I mentioned before, size small has been my default as of late because of my mama boobs.
Last but certainly not least this dress by Joie is so pretty. I loved the fit. I grabbed the dress in a XS because the small looked way too roomy. It’s definitely a mini dress which with a baby it’s definitely not for everyday wear for me but, it would be perfect for going out or on the weekend when I’ve at least got Justin to help me out when we’re out and about. I didn’t buy it since it’s still pricey but it’s $130 off from retail so a great deal if you’re in the market for a super cute dress!
I hope you enjoyed my dressing room diaries!! Let me know which pieces are your favorite in the comments!!
