I’ve been really into wearing bright bold lipstick lately. I switch off between my two favorite Dior lipsticks and have a lipgloss I sometimes layer over to create different shades. For the holidays I always think a bright red lip is a perfect and easy way to transform any look into a festive one. My makeup routine is pretty standard and I rarely move away from it so when I’m planning my look for a night out I honestly just make the change in the eyeshadow I use and maybe bump up the bronzer and add a little more mascara. For my husbands holiday dinner party last week I decided to get my makeup done because I had to pick up some of my daily go-to’s that I was running out of. She used a few new products on me and I loved all the colors so much so that I ended up buying most of them! Here’s a step by step of what we did and the products used in case you’re looking for some new makeup to try!
Step 1: Prep. Using Nars Skin products to clean your skin, moisturize, and brighten.
Step 2: Set your foundation. Apply concealer, cheek illuminator and foundation.
Step 3: Apply primer to your eyelids.
Step 4: Add shape. To shape and set your brows use a brow gel. Apply brow pencil to fill in any areas.
Step 5: Smokey Eyes: First apply base eyeshadow then apply second eyeshadow to the crease only. Run your eyeliner just at the eyelashes on top and bottom. Apply volumizing mascara.
Step 6: Get Cheeky. Go back to your cheeks and with a contour brush start with contouring blush then go over with your shade of choice. We used two different shades of blush and finished with a highlighting blush to add some more glow to my skin.
Step 7: Pucker up. Add bright or deep red lipstick to your lips. Use a red lip pencil to line your lips and smooth out the line of your lips. For fuller lips apply the lip pencil right outside your lip line.
Hope you enjoyed and maybe got some tips worth using for your holiday makeup this holiday season!
