I realize it’s been a while since I shared my morning beauty routine when it comes to my skincare, hair, and makeup. Since I created a GRWM (get ready with me) video for IGTV in collaboration with two other bloggers, I thought I should share all my product info on the blog too. I’ll leave a link to my video here, in case you’d like to watch it!
Daily Morning Beauty Routine – Skincare, Hair, and Makeup
Step 1: Cleanse. I’ve been using a new cleanser for the past month or so. It’s from Murad and it’s their essential-c cleanser. I love the smell and the tiny beads that help to gently exfoliate without drying out your skin. I love wearing my puffy headband (comes in a pack of 3) to hold back my hair and keep it out of my face while I cleanse and while I do my makeup.
Note: At night I like to use Beautycounter’s cleansing balm. It’s like doing double duty since you put it on dry skin, right over my makeup and it removes and cleanses, all in one!
Step 2: Hydrate. This hydrating lotion/serum is something I have been using for a long time now. I don’t use it daily year round but definitely use it whenever my skin is feeling dried out, like it is right now. It’s from La Mer and it instantly hydrates your skin, without needing to use much product at all. I dab it on my skin post cleansing.
Step 3: Under eye treatment. Like most moms, I wake up with bags under my eyes. I love using my Dermalogica de-puffing eye treatment in the morning to help reduce the appearance of my under eye bags. It’s so easy to apply and a little goes a long way.
Step 4: Moisturize. I love my Kate Summerville ExfoliKate glow moisturizer. It feels so rich and creamy without being oily and leaves my skin looking and feeling refreshed and ready to go!
Step 5: Tinted moisturizer/foundation. I don’t like heavy coverage when it comes to foundation so I have been mixing my foundation with tinted moisturizer that has SPF for a long time now. I blend them together on my beauty blender before applying all over my face.
Step 6: Concealer. I use concealer under my eyes only. I don’t use much, just a few spots then feather it out so it’s not too dramatic of a difference between my foundation and my under eye concealer.
Step 7: Finishing/setting powder. I like to put this on before I apply the rest of my makeup just to set the base and give my skin that photo finish look. I use the smallest amount because I don’t want to have my face look dried out.
Step 8: Eyeshadow primer. This eyeshadow primer has been one in my beauty bag for a really long time. I am a huge fan! It keeps my eyeshadow in place all day long!! Check out my review post I did a long time ago, here.
Step 9: Eyebrows. Since I got my eyebrows microbladed a year and a half ago, I just need to do a little fill in with this eyebrow pencil to make everything look even since I haven’t gotten them touched up since that initial appointments. I am due for going back to get them done again.
Step 10: Eyeshadow. For my everyday look I use only one eye shadow color, just one bright and light with a little shimmer to it. I’ve been using Urban Decay’s eyeshadow palette but I’m getting ready to try out some new ones and will report back after I have some time to try them out.
Step 11: Bronzer. For conturing I use 100% Pure bronzers. I just contour under my cheek bones and around my face. If you make a fishy face, put the darker bronzer right in that line that’s created then feather out to blend it in.
Step 12: Highlighter. I use a lighter shade of bronzer for highlighting so that it’s not too dramatic. It’s also from 100% Pure and they last a really long time and aren’t harmful on your skin.
Step 13: Mascara. I love my Urban Decay mascara that I’ve been using for over a year. It goes on really nice and thick without being too thick and stays all day! I do have an issue with my lashes being so long that they do sometimes leave marks under my eyes or on my eyelids. I’d love any tips you might have for not getting mascara on your skin if you have long lashes!
Step 14: Curling wand. I like to quickly use my curling wand to get an easy beachy waves look. I did a video review a while back but have definitely perfected since then. If you’d like to go check it out anyway here’s the link. PS I let my hair set after I’ve finished curling it all before I run my fingers through my hair.
Step 15: Lip Balm. Since my lips have been chapped lately I have been wearing beeswax and honey lip balm and then apply a matte lipgloss, crayon, or lipstick over.
I hope you liked this step by step of my morning routine doing my skincare, hair, and makeup! Let me know in the comments if you’d like more of these style posts! Thanks!!
