Get ready for some holiday ready looks these next few weeks, as I went a little overboard on my holiday clothes shopping and have tons of outfits to share with you all. This first one is this gorgeous red metallic holiday dress by Gal Meets Glam! I love the subtle hint of shimmer and shine with the silver metallic threads woven through this gorgeous red dress. The length is perfect for the holidays too. I don’t like to wear anything too short since I know I will be trying to corral Mason and keep him engaged in the holiday festivities.
One tip I have for moms of toddlers this holiday season is to lower your expectations over the holidays. I tend to build things up myself and hope for the perfect day or night but I’ve come to realize that, it rarely ever is a perfect day. Mason runs the show at our house and if he’s not in the mood to open Christmas presents in the morning in our jammies, then it’s not going to happen. Just like he may not want to pose with me for a cute picture in front of the Christmas tree. And he definitely doesn’t have the attention span or desire to sit through everyone opening their presents on Christmas night when we’re with our family.
If you can roll with the punches and lower your expectations of what the holidays will be little with young kids, you’ll end up having a very Merry Christmas! It just might not look like the pictures you see online, in magazines, or on Instagram!!
But back to this look! This dress is a knockout on it’s own so I am all about picking one statement piece, this look it’s definitely the dress, then pairing shoes and accessories that compliment without overpowering. These heels have been a favorite of mine for a while. They literally go with EVERYTHING! To make this outfit a little more festive, I’d pair with a metallic clutch if you have one. I should have grabbed my champagne colored pouch clutch but I totally forgot to grab it before leaving the house to take these photos 😉
