I have been a fan of Jonathan Adler for quite some time now. I even applied for a design position with Jonathan Adler right after I graduated college. Needless to say it ended, rather didn’t even start, once I figured out that for the internship or any other design position I would have to move to NYC. As cool as living in New York sounded I am a West Coast girl through and through! Anyway, I have always loved Jonathan Adler’s modern home accessories. I’m pretty sure he started the trend for modern/mod animal figurines and many other home retailers followed suit. I am showcasing the owl bookends because I have noticed a big jump in the owl motif throughout interiors; not just the usual dog breed figure or deer/other antlered animals.
The Z Gallerie version is a more classic illustration of an owl, what you could expect to see in children’s books. And lastly the West Elm version which comes in two different sizes (but I can only find the large size for sale online) benefits the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Now who doesn’t like a portion of their purchase to go towards a great cause?! I know I do!!!
So which one would you choose to place on your shelf, desk, or credenza?
