Lately I have been maxing out on my weekday work life/personal life balance (or lack there of) and come the weekend am ready to power down, relax, and work on the house; hence the inconsistency in blog posts recently. And while doing nothing now and again can be amazing for the body and soul, that’s not really something I’m good at nor do I feel like I have time for that. So on a rare weekend when our plans shift and heading up to wine country for the weekend is no longer an option in between our list of must-do’s Justin and I took a break and headed out to dinner with my family. I had reserved this outfit for our Napa trip but didn’t want to wait to wear it for the chance to re-do our weekend getaway. This maxi skirt and crop top are a current favorite and a combination I am wearing more and more. There are just so many ways to wear a crop top (recently worn and styled two very different ways here and here) and with summer right around the corner, I anticipate lots of them in my future. Even though the pieces are separates, the bold print of this DSquared2 maxi skirt and bright color of the crop top are a perfect pair and don’t require much accessorizing to complete the outfit. Wearing a gardenia flower in my hair, that was given to me at dinner the night before, with it’s amazing scent made me feel like I was being whisked away to a tropical island and not just in my little beach town for the day.
