When the weather warms up I tend to put away my dark pants and opt for all the light and bright colors I can find. These black splatter paint jeans caught my attention during an opening of the new Baldwin store on Santana Row as few months back. They remind me of a Jackson Pollock painting. I couldn’t help but want to style them now and not wait till fall and winter. So when the Baldwin team said they wanted to send me a few pieces to wear I requested these splatter paint jeans as well as this pretty mustard yellow light weight short sleeve sweater. As you all know, I’m on a yellow kick right now and I do no discriminate on the shade.
I styled these for a casual look here with my pearl sandals that I scored at Target (there the perfect dupe to the Steve Madden sandals) but recently wore this top and jeans combo to an event and dressed them up with my all time favorite suede booties from Manolo Blahink and had my go-to leather jacket to layer over once it started to cool down. I also think that they would pair nicely with these sandals that I’ve got my eye on. The contrast with the dark denim and the light raffia detail on the sandals would make this outfit look so nice for a spring date night.
Just like I believe you can wear white year round I am believe it’s the same with black, even in summer and during the daytime. You’ve just got to make sure it’s not going to be too hot of a day. So always style appropriately!
