For my recent girls getaway to Napa Valley I picked up a few new pieces. I know I said I was challenging myself to not purchase any new clothes these first six months of the year but my Unlimited order I was banking on for the trip didn’t arrive in time so I made a quick pit stop to the mall, the night before we left, to get something new. I hardly feel bad about breaking my little New Years Resolution/Challenge when everything I purchased was under $50! Target and Kohls are two of my go-to places to shop for on trend pieces with an economical price tag! Target for their designer collaborations and Target Style pieces and Kohls for the LC Lauren Conrad collection. Bell sleeves are a big trend this season especially the trumpet bell sleeve so when I spotted this bell sleeve sweater by Who What Wear for Target I immediately found my size and brought it to the dressing room to try on (along with a few alternate options). I really liked the knit details on this sweater.
When I was trying this bell sleeve sweater on my metallic pleated skirt came to mind as a great piece to pair with it. I was crossing my fingers that I was going to be able to fit back into it, since it was a purchase I had made the year before for NYFW when I was just about two months pregnant. Thankfully I’m about back to where I was at that time so the skirt was able to zip all the way up over the sweater (it’s tucked in here). These grey suede boots were an instant hit when they came out in time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (PS their Winter Sale is going on now!) so they are no longer available online, unless you can find someone who is selling their pair on a resale site like Poshmark or TheRealReal.
I wore this all grey outfit to dinner at the Farm at Carneros. It was a chilly evening but thankfully the rain had stopped so I was able to get away with this outfit without needing to spoil it with a jacket or coat. In most cases another layer only adds to the overall look but because the main detail in the sweater are the sleeves I was happy to leave them be. We also lucked out with the perfect parking spot to carry Mason in, in his carseat with no worry of him having time to get cold or wet, in case it started to rain before we left. I can definitely see this sweater also looking great with my high waist jeans for a more casual look or being paired with a fun pop of color to transition into spring.
