I am so excited to be teaming up with TargetStyle this spring to bring you all some fun and easy styling tips and tricks about building confidence and using your creativity when it comes to your personal style.
Can you believe swimsuit season is already almost upon us?! Living by the beach, it sometimes seems as though it never really stops, but this year we’ve had some rain (which we desperately needed) and so there has been a major break from beach days and backyard parties.
You might feel like it’s a little too early to be thinking about swimsuit season, let alone going to try on the new suits of the season. But, trust me, it’s not! Now, I understand that swimsuit shopping is easy to blow off due to insecurities; we all have them. I tend to like to try on swimsuits in the comfort of my home rather than under those harsh dressing room lights. That’s one great thing about Target—thanks to their free shipping and returns policy, you can always shop online, select the swimsuits you like and return the ones you decide not to keep.
So here’s the thing, and the reason why I’m trying to get y’all to change your thinking: we’ve all made resolutions to get into beach body shape at some point in our lives by working out more and/or eating better, healthier foods. It’s super easy to be critical of ourselves; I’m my own toughest critic, and body image is one of those areas where I think everyone can find flaws in themselves (even if others don’t see them). I’ve always been self-conscious of my mid-section. It seems no matter how much I try I can’t seem to get those washboard abs I’ve always wanted. It’s a goal I always work towards but it shouldn’t stop me from enjoying summer days at the beach or hanging out by the pool at your friends place! And whatever goals you’re still working towards shouldn’t stop you, either! So make 2016 the year of loving yourself and the skin you’re in, even if it’s a work in progress, and take the #NOFOMO pledge! And if you needed one more reason to do so, the swimsuits available at Target right now are just too cute to pass up!
I’ve never really been one to wear one-piece suits for fun; they bring me back to my diving days of skin-tight one-pieces that were basic scoop neck in the front and high cut around the hips—I think you know the one I’m talking about. But oh my gosh, have they changed. In the last few seasons, one-pieces have made a major comeback and Target has some great stylish options that help minimize the appearance of your mid-section! This one-piece I ordered along with about ten other swimsuits. Honestly, so many of the styles I ordered and tried on made me feel great! I loved the detail on the back of this bikini top and these bottoms really work with almost all the tops I ordered. I love mixing and matching swimsuits and so I tend to select pieces that coordinate together nicely. Depending on my mood and whatever else I plan on wearing, I can create the look I want before heading out for a day in the sun!
So please do yourself a favor and pledge to challenge yourself to do something amazing this swimsuit season by keeping a #NOFOMO attitude!! I believe you will be thanking yourself later! So what will it be, playing at the beach with your kids, partying it up by the pool at some resort with your friends? Whatever it may be, I’d love to hear it so drop a comment and tell me what you pledge to do this season that you may have been holding out on before.
