The Meritage Resort and Spa is a four-star hotel with five-star service. From the moment we drove up to the front of the resort their customer service staff were so friendly and our experience was perfectly orchestrated. I think it was probably one of the smoothest transitions I’ve experienced from checking in to having their bell service help unload my car (we had so many bags especially since I wanted to make sure I was prepared for anything with Mason) to the hand off to valet take care of my car. The rain didn’t have them skipping a beat. I let them know I was arriving early and that if possible I’d love to have an early check-in. Thankfully they were able to accommodate and our room was ready as soon as we arrived.
We had the cutest welcome platter waiting for us in our room with a bottle of wine. It was a bottle of red, which I’m sure was delicious, but since I enjoy a glass of bubbly or white wine I asked if they would mind swapping it out for me and they had no problem making the switch. I could tell they truly wanted their guests to have a memorable experience and were willing to do whatever they could to make it a positive one.
The location when you are driving up to the property may make you wonder as you drive through a business park to get there but as soon as you step foot onto their property you are totally transported. The finishes are all high end and the color palette is very reminiscent of what you would think of when visiting Napa Valley. The vineyards in the back of their property lets you know you are conveniently located in Napa Valley. You’re minutes away from some really nice restaurants and wineries in Napa and just about 20 minutes away from Yountville.
The rooms are very luxurious. The ceilings are so tall making the rooms feel very grand and open. We had a garden view with a patio but we didn’t really take advantage of it due to the rainy weather the entire time we were in town. I can definitely see myself coming back when the weather is nice and spending an afternoon out at their pool enjoying the view of the vineyards in the background.
