During my three day trip up to Healdsburg, with my friend and Mason, we ate dinner at The Shed. Healdsburg Shed is a farm-to-table restaurant inside a market. Most of the food they serve comes from a 10-mile radius of the restaurant. Either from their HomeFarm or one of the neighboring producers. The menu changes constantly to go with what is in harvest. I love that they believe in responsible farming, ingredient-driven cooking, and flavorful food. You can definitely tell that when you see the menu and taste their food.
We had gotten the recommendation from someone local about it and after checking out the menu decided we had to give it a try. Everything sounded amazing so when it was time to order we decided why not just go for the prix-fixe menu, Chef Hoffman‘s choice. I was able to let them know I did not eat meat so for me they substituted with fish when they were going to do meat. It really only ended up being two swaps. They list it as four courses but if definitely felt more like six.
They brought us two oysters as a little starter and they were so good we ordered four more. Everything was absolutely amazing, the presentation was perfect, and I definitely left more then full. My entree was their halibut which was so delicious. I was so full from the other courses and wanted to leave some room for coffee and dessert so I ended up taking back to the hotel a good portion of that dish. But don’t worry it didn’t go to waste! I enjoyed it the next day 🙂
If you are ever visiting Healdsburg, I highly recommend you going to The Shed for lunch or dinner. I know you won’t be disappointed.
