Auberge du Soleil has been on my list of places to go to when I’m up in Napa Valley for a long time now. I knew I most likely wouldn’t be staying there but I could definitely dine at their Michelin-Star Restaurant. My friend and I went for brunch during our trip to Napa a few weekends ago and all I can say is the food was mouth-wateringly delicious and the service was amazing!! They were so incredibly accommodating with us and the baby. As well as being super accommodating with me being dairy free.
Executive Chef, Robert Curry’s menu was very inspiring and I loved all the flavors of each dish that we got. I had the Mushroom Mille Feuille as my main dish and oh my gosh I am still drooling just thinking about it. I’m very picky when it comes to mushrooms, and how they are prepared, and so I typically don’t order them unless I’m dining somewhere really nice where I pretty much know they are going to be great. The food presentation was so pretty I couldn’t help but snap a couple of pictures. Their sorbet trio was excellent as well. Everywhere we ate on this trip I had sorbet because it was the only dairy free dessert option and it was so tasty every time, I couldn’t resist trying it at the next place!
What’s brunch without some bubbly. We each had a glass of their “house” champagne which in Napa Valley is like a top shelf option anywhere else. I ended up buying a bottle of their “house” champagne to-go because it was just so yummy; they have a small gift shop where you can purchase it along with other Auberge du Soleil items…they had a baby bib! I was so tempted to buy it but I stopped myself because Mason already has enough bibs. I still haven’t opened up the bottle yet but I am planning to very soon!
The weather wasn’t cooperating with us the whole trip and my outfit for brunch definitely wasn’t rainy weather appropriate but it was all I had packed as originally the weather said it was going to be cloudy with a chance of sun. There was definitely no sun, only lots and lots of rain. I can only imagine how incredible the view would have been from the restaurant had it not been raining and cloudy. The clouds did start to disappear towards the end of our meal so you could see a little bit of the view.
The valet at Auberge du Soleil was so great. They literally walked up to the car, one on each side, with umbrellas and stood out in the rain while I grabbed everything I needed for Mason and got him out of the car. They even helped me with my many bags (purse, camera bag, and diaper bag). I was so impressed with their complimentary service. They really made the right first impression and experience from start to finish so pleasant. I would highly recommend you dine at Auberge du Soleil for brunch or dinner next time you’re in Napa Valley.
