I don’t know about you but I don’t have a sewing machine, nor do I really have the patience to try and hand sew myself a face mask for when I need to go out of the house and run my essential errands. My mother in law actually shared this easy DIY no sew face mask with me and I wanted to share it with you all in case you’re in the same boat as me and have yet to see one of these super simple no sew easy face mask tutorials yet.
DIY No Sew Easy Face Mask Tutorial –
Step 1: Find a bandana, handkerchief, cloth napkin, or square piece of fabric you might have laying around the house. I’m using a dining napkin for this example.
Step 2: Fold your handkerchief or napkin by having the two sides meet in the middle and then fold in half again meeting back in the middle.
Step 3: Take two hair ties or elastic if you have some and slide them about a 1/3 of the way in on each side.
Step 4: Tuck the sides of your handkerchief or napkin on both sides into the middle and tuck inside the fold.
Step 5: Pull the two hair ties out and then wrap around your ears. Making sure that the mask is covering your nose to chin. And there you go! Yes, it’s not going to stop air from going through (I am aware of that) but it is better than nothing!
Step 6: You can actually cut a coffee filter and place it into the middle of your mask. This is something I just saw pop up online so I wanted to include it. You would cut the bottom of the coffee filter off and then fold the sides in half making the filter double up.
