Free People has got to be my favorite non-maternity brand to wear during pregnancy and here’s why. The boho brand has bump friendly cuts and typically runs on the larger/oversized side so you can easily wear your same size or just size up one to fit your growing bump. Their dresses are some of my favorite to wear during pregnancy because the styles allow for plenty of room around the bump and are super comfortable, lightweight, and breezy…all things you want in clothes during pregnancy. In Free People I typically wear a size x-small but sometimes wear a size small too. During pregnancy, I fit a size small perfectly. I’m currently 35 weeks and this dress still has room. I’m considering packing it in my hospital bag to wear home from the hospital because of how comfortable (and forgiving) it is.
I’d love to know what your favorite non-maternity brand/s to wear during pregnancy are. Free People is my favorite but I have a few others I like to wear as well. There’s also specific styles that are bump friendly regardless of if they are actually maternity clothes or not, that I always lean towards. An a-line dress is a forgiving style whether you are pregnant or not, and one I tend to lean towards, like the style of this dress. Free People continues to make this dress in new prints each season so be on the lookout for the latest! I also have a very similar dress from H&M (that I shared here) that I was able to wear most of my pregnancy but since it’s a mini version of this one, I finally had to stop wearing it since the bump was making it a little too short for my comfort level. I’m sure if I got the next size up it would be fine.
