The 4th of July is one of my favorite days of the year and on of my favorite holidays. Six years ago today, Justin and I headed to SFO airport early in the morning to pick up our little Lexie. She was so little and so adorable, and of course she still is. Being that she was my first dog and I had been waiting for weeks for her to be old enough to have, I was highly anticipating the day of her arrival. I don’t believe the day could have been any better. She met the entire family, since every year we spend the 4th with my dad’s side of the family. She did so well and then come time for the fireworks to start she was sound asleep. They didn’t bother her and ever since I think she handles the noise better than most dogs. So as you can tell, the 4th of July is a very special day for me. Not to mention it is a day to celebrate our freedom, our American pride, and a great day to count our blessing because we are very blessed. And this year it’s easy to recognize our blessings as we celebrate the 4th of July with our friends and family for the first time in our new home as homeowners.
