I was recently invited up to Dutch Henry Winery in Calistoga for the weekend. To say I was happy to accept is an understatement. I was super stoked and jumped at the invitation to not only head up to Calistoga for some wine tasting but to also stay at the home on their property. I absolutely love wine country and love trying new wineries plus I love any excuse to get away for the weekend and this one definitely felt like a mini vacay. Dutch Henry Winery is situated along the Silverado Trail not too far from Calistoga Ranch or Solage Resort. It’s set back enough that you can’t see all the charm from the road which is a shame because it is oh so charming from the wine cave, to the Airstream trailer staged with string lights, adirondack chairs, chicken coop, and bocce ball court. It was quite the experience. Justin and I had a blast. I love that Dutch Henry Winery is a dog friendly winery so we were able to bring Lexie and Jackson along. The pups had just as much fun as we did starting off by being greeted by the wineries airedale dogs. We had a little run in with the wineries cat right as we arrived but that was quickly forgotten as the morning tour began. I’d say one of the coolest parts of the weekend was staying at the Dutch Henry house Saturday night. The home has some pretty amazing views from the balcony and being on site at night after everyone left was something extra special. Justin and I headed down with the pups to play some late night bocce ball after we got back from dinner at SolBar at Solage Resort down the road.
If you’re looking for a nice little getaway and want to head up to Calistoga I would highly recommend planning to stop at Dutch Henry’s. From the people and ambiance to their wine, you won’t be disappointed! But if I haven’t convinced you already to take a trip up to Calistoga and visit Dutch Henry Winery than you must not be that into wine, rest, and relaxation 😉
Have you ever been to Dutch Henry Winery? I’d love to hear your experience!
