Mother’s Day this year was extra special for me seeing as it was my first one as a mama. I never could have understood how special of a day it could be until I experienced it as a mom. I can only imagine that Justin will be feeling the same way on Father’s Day as it will also be his first. Sadly he will be in Okinawa, Japan and will not be able to celebrate it with Mason and I. We will have to FaceTime instead and work to make the day for him as special as possible even with him being so far away. I have to say that I never thought I could love him more, and then he became a father to our son and I love him more everyday!
I’ve been able to capture some pretty incredible moments so far with him and Mason. Some are pictures but others are home videos with him playing with Mason and making him smile and giggle. I want Justin to know that while he is not spending all day with Mason, like I am, the moments he does get are so very special and important to Mason. When Justin walks through the door when he gets home from work Mason’s face lights up. He loves his daddy so very much and nothing warms my heart more than seeing their bond grow. Justin makes every moment count that he does have with Mason and that’s what is important!
A father is so very important in a baby’s life and Justin is by far the best father Mason could ever have. There may be some things Justin would rather leave up to me and I’m ok with that because the things he does with Mason now, I know, are going to leave a lasting impression on him. Mason’s got a cool, silly dad who would do anything to bring a smile to his face. He wears him around with pride in his military grade baby carrier and he’s teaching Mason how to be a strong man but also a sensitive, loving, and caring man.
Their nap times are my favorite and I love tip toeing in the room when it’s quiet to see the two of them cuddled together. I’m not sure who puts who to bed sometimes as I know Justin can be very tired after a long day at work, his fire calls, or after his drill weekends. But in the end they are both getting some rest and building their bond which will only grow stronger as Mason grows older.
Because Justin is in the Military he always needs to be clean shaven and so a good razor and mens facial products are so important. I’ve gifted him, Harry’s products before and he has been really happy with the shaving cream, post shave balm, and face lotion with SPF. In honor of Justin’s first Father’s Day I am giving away a gift package of Harry’s Truman Set and travel case perfect for the Father that makes every moment count!
