Now that preschool is back in session it means that fall is coming! While it still feels like summer here in CA, I’m ready to embrace the fall season. I absolutely love fall weather and all the fun fall activities you can do with your family. Not to mention all the opportunities to wear cute coordinating outfits! I’ve been pretty excited for some mommy son coordinating outfits. I’m not sure what mom doesn’t love a good matching or coordinating outfit with their kids. I tend to prefer coordinating over matching only because I still like to have our personal styles shine. Yes, to this point Mason lets me dress him how I’d like but that’s quickly changing. In the mornings before preschool I let him pick out his outfits. I typically give him two choices and let him decide from there. But, if he spots a top he wants to wear he’ll ask for it and make me let him wear it. I love how grown up he’s getting on one hand but on the other I’d really like to freeze time.
So just like I plan out coordinating outfits for church or family photos I like to start with a color scheme or pattern. When I saw this cute henley for Mason on Nordstrom Rack, I started to build our outfits around it. His top became the color scheme. Next I found these navy shoes with creamy white stripes that worked perfectly with his top. My top was also on major sale from Nordstrom Rack. The subtle vertical stripe works perfectly with Mason’s bold printed henley. The shoes can be tough to coordinate sometimes if we’re not both wearing sneakers from the same brand (which we have been known to do on occasion) so I go for similar colors.
