I tend to go for color in my outfits. If I had to choose between neutral territory or brightly colored nine times out of ten I’d reach for the color, or so I thought. It’s funny how you have an opinion of yourself that may or may not be true. Going back to when I started my blog a little over a year ago to now, I have shown so many different outfits and really I’d like to think that my style has evolved, or has it? Many of the same pieces still sit in my closet, and go on rotation with my new clothes, shoes, and accessories that I acquire. I’ve come to the realization that having a great set of neutrals is key in anyones closet. I once pushed back from an all black, tan, and grey color palette, possibly because I use to look at it like a uniform for work (because it was) and have learned to instead embrace it. This outfit surely shows my love for pairing neutrals like black and tan is back and with the freedom to choose what I wear everyday it has allowed me to feel good about wearing neutrals as much as my colors, prints, and patterns. But…in case you didn’t notice there’s a pop of hot pink coming from the inside of my bag, so maybe I haven’t changed at all 😉
Neutral outfits are always better when they are leather on leather or leather on faux leather in this case. I love that both the tee and skirt have center seams and honestly it’s almost impossible to tell that the skirt isn’t real leather. I chose to wear this outfit like an ombre effect going from black, to brown, to tan. PS. How cool is this convertible bag?? There are five ways to wear it, and I’ve shared three of them. Oh and not to mention the contrasting interior color. What’s not to love!
Are you a neutral territory or a brightly colored kinda gal?
