On day 3 of NYFW SS16 I was all over the place! Not a single show I was going to was on site. I was at Chelsea Piers in the morning and evening with appointments in between. I started my day off at Kendra Scotts showroom in the garment district and then stopped off at the Tresemme pop-up salon in Chelsea near Skylight Clarkson location. My first show of the day was Jay Godfrey. I have been attending his presentations each season and have loved seeing his collections. After this presentation I had a large gap in the afternoon before my evening show so I went back to the hotel to relax and enjoy the rooftop bar. I abrade back down to Chelsea Piers for Frankie B Hollywood’s runway show in the evening.
Jay Godfrey:
This was the first time I’ve seen Jay do a monochromatic collection, let alone an all white collection. I am used to seeing bold prints and patterns as well as major plays with textures. The all white collection was a surprise but there were a number of pieces I really loved. The light pyramid installation was a cool effect. As usual the place was packed even though they were limiting the number of people who could be inside the presentation at any given time. I was able to snap a quick pic of Jay Godfrey but was unable to chat with him about his collection like last season because he was busy doing interviews.

Frankie B Hollywood:
I wasn’t too familiar with any recent pieces from Frankie B Hollywood before the show and so was pleasantly surprised when so much of what came down the runway I was interested in. Frankie B Hollywood is a lot more than just a denim brand which is what I had thought. I love, love, loved all the fringe denim that I saw and the blush colored outfit was absolutely gorgeous in person not to mention the delicate lace pieces!
