I always love hearing about what shows people love to binge watch. Justin and I have a list of our favorites that we watch together as well as shows we binge watch separately. We’ve gotten hooked on a number of Netflix original shows that we’re already a few seasons deep in. And of course, we have some series that we love that you can’t watch on Netflix but are seriously noteworthy and should be on your radar if they aren’t already. Because I enjoy these so much I figured I’d compile our top favorites so if you find yourself with a free day or weekend (or if everyone in the fam has either a cold or infection like we have had for the past few weeks) you can add these to your list of the best binge worthy shows to watch in 2020.
The Best Binge Worthy Shows to Watch in 2020 –
Dead to Me – This was a fast series to get through but very interesting. Both Justin and I really got into it. We’re so excited that it’s coming back for a second season on Netflix!! The show is about a woman whose husband dies in a hit and run and how she handles grief. The show has a few crazy twists and turns that I can’t mention since it will give the show away. If you haven’t watched the first season you definitely should! I’m so curious how the second season will go.
Designated Survivor – Justin and I really got into the Designated Survivor. The cast is awesome and the show is super interesting. I’m not big into politics but I really like to watch shows surrounding government and politics. It’s very interesting to me. You really get invested in the characters in this show!
Dirty John – Justin and I watched this mini series towards the end of 2019 and thought it was so good. It’s based on a true story which is insane but totally worth binging if you haven’t already. The short of it is, it’s a story about a woman who falls in love with a con man who just got out of jail (unbeknownst to her) and how their relationship almost destroys her family. You can find Dirty John on Netflix!
Emily in Paris – I just binge watched the first season in just a couple of nights. The fashion is fabulous as is the story line. I love that Emily is a problem solver and thinks quickly on her toes. Following her work experiences as well as Parisian love life was fun. I felt like I was living vicariously through her. Looking forward to a second season!
Million Dollar Beach House – I watched this show right after I finished all 3 seasons of Selling Sunset. Million Dollar Beach House is set in the Hamptons and wow oh wow I enjoyed watching the Hampton real estate agents lifestyle as well as all the gorgeous homes. The parties they throw for their brokers opens are definitely over the top. It’s a great show to watch if you enjoy looking at real estate and want to see how the 1% lives. While I’m definitely more invested in the ladies of Selling Sunset, this was still a great show to watch.
Ozark – Justin and I stumbled upon Ozark when we needed to find a new show to watch till some of our old Netflix favorites came back for another season. It follows a family who is ultimately forced to leave their home and try and start over (well kind of) in the Ozark’s to save their lives but fall into more problems as they do. They have now filmed 3 seasons, with season 3 launching in March. So, if you haven’t watched it yet you’ve got some catching up to do.
Schitt’s Creek – I have been flying through this series on Netflix. I watch it on the nights Justin is on shift. The show is so hilarious! I LOL during every episode. The storyline is following a uber rich family after they loose everything (well almost) taking them out of New York and landing them in Schitts Creek. I have become super invested in all the characters. The cast is fantastic. I can’t wait for the next season to come out on Netflix. They currently have 5 seasons on Netflix and season 6 is the final season that has already aired but is not yet on Netflix.
Selling Sunset – If you love real estate and love drama then you will love Selling Sunset. I grew up going to open houses and spending time on job sites as my mom was a real estate agent and my dad owned a construction company building custom homes in the Bay Area. So, I loved watching all three seasons of the show. The homes they sell are jaw dropping. Trust me, this show will not disappoint!
Queen of the South – Justin and I are both really into drug cartel shows. I don’t know why we get so into them, but we do! The Queen of the South is such an interesting show and takes a look at what it takes to make it in the cartel as a woman. Each episode is so interesting, filled with action, betrayal, murder, and of course drugs. If you like shows about the war on drugs or the history of the drug cartel, this is really interesting drama filled option.
The Marvelous Mrs. Mazel – I got hooked on this show from episode one! Mrs. Mazel is hilarious!! The storyline and the jokes are so good. A jewish girl in New York who decides to do stand up comedy. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you NEED to! It’s available to stream on Prime Video. PS there are 3 seasons already and season 4 is in the works!!
Workin’ Moms – This show is hilarious! It’s also so relatable as a mom. It shows how motherhood is so different for everyone and shares all the struggles of being a working mama and how motherhood can effect relationships with your spouse as well as with friends. I loved watching their mom tribe form and seeing all the bumps and turns each character has taken over the seasons.
Westworld – Justin and I have been watching Westworld since it first came out and we are so excited for season 3! It’s such a cool show about an alternate world that was created for rich people to live out their fantasies and to escape reality whenever they choose to but when the alternative world comes to life and starts making their own decisions, everything changes. When we first watched Yellowstone (see below) we felt there were some similarities in the intros; totally unrelated to the shows, but just something to note. You can stream Seasons 1 and 2 on HBO or get them on Prime Video.
Yellowstone – Y’all this is such a good show. Justin and I are currently watching season 2 and we are totally into it. The show is about a ranching family whose property and family members always seem to be under attack in some way. The family dynamic is super interesting and so is the cowboy lifestyle portrayed in the show. I’m going to be sad when we finish the season since we’ll have to wait it out till season 3 comes out. Luckily, I don’t have to wait long since it’s supposed to air in June. You can stream Seasons 1 and 2 on Prime Video.
YOU – All I can say is I’m obsessed with this show. It is so twisted but I’m loving it! I started watching You when Justin was working so I’ve been continuing to watch on my own time. I will say what’s most disturbing about the show and the main character is how he uses social media to stalk and learn everything he needs to know (including daily routine/patterns) about his crush before pursuing her. PS just finished season 2 and all I can say is OMG!
I’d love to hear if you have a favorite binge worthy show you love that didn’t make my list. I’m always up for checking out new shows!!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you enjoyed the post!!
