As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently moved back in with my parents temporarily while my husband is deployed in Afghanistan. Why do you ask, I thought it would have been much harder for me to deal with J being so far away if I was also far from my family. It’s always better to have your parents love and support to help you get through hard/stressful times. We were living in Southern California, Carlsbad to be exact, since my husband was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Both our families live in Northern California so it just made sense.
So with this temporary move, I have had to settle into what used to be “my room” when we were in town. I wanted to do a little something to make it feel more like mine. Last weekend my mom and I went to Anthropologie in Carmel to check out some new hardware for the dresser that currently resides in “my room.” I have always adored Anthro’s selection of small knick knacks for the home and I was happy to be presented with an opportunity to explore my options.
Each knob is unique and that was one of the reasons why I decided to go with them over some of the other options. I think the new knobs are a step in the right direction (not 100% sold on them yet.) They add some visual interest and character to the dresser. Though now I’m thinking I should probably stay away from a round knob there’s just not enough impact to these…Expect to see a follow up post soon with my new selection.
What DIY projects have you been up to lately?
Dresser: Antique furniture shop. Knob: Spanish Moss knob, Anthropologie.
p.s. sorry for the bad pics in this one…natural light is a blessing and a curse.
