This is the second time I have been to an Academy of Art runway show at NYFW. The first time my friend, Naomi Sutton, was showing at Bryant Park and I was lucky enough to be able to go to New York to support her and her collection. I was so blown away by all of the students showing that season but was partial to her collection, of course! So when I knew I was attending NYFW this season I reached out to see if I might be able to attend the show, even though I did not know anyone who was showing. I was happy when they extended me and my mom an invite. While I absolutely love seeing established designers runway collections, Mara Hoffman and Zimmermann were the highlight of my trip, there is something to be said about getting to see the collections of the up-and-comers. The pieces they send down the runway are well designed and impeccably made. I know for certain after seeing this group show, that I will be seeing at least a few of their names in the future! These were the four designers collections I was drawn to the most and wanted to pick some of the clothes right off the runway to wear.
