The Zimmermann runway show would have to be the show I was most looking forward to the weeks leading up to Fashion Week. When I reached out, I really didn’t think I would get an invite. So when it arrived in my inbox, I could hardly contain my excitement (I’m sure you all were getting tired of it on social media). I absolutely love the sister team, Nicky and Simone‘s prior collections and have been dreaming of owning a piece or two for quite some time. After seeing their SS15 show, I’ve got to start saving my money (something that’s going to be hard now that my husband and I are buying a house…yup it’s now blog official!) because I want it all!! The textiles were amazing. I love a good floral print, and these floral prints are to die for. Between the sheer florals to their satin suiting, detailed swimwear, to sparkling metallic, I don’t even know where to start. They definitely stayed true to their vision of sophisticated femininity, clever color combinations and delicate original prints. It was a magical show that did not disappoint. It was a wonderful honor to be able to attend and such a great experience for my first NYFW as a fashion blogger! I did get a quick peek backstage after the show. It was buzzing just like you would imagine, with the backstage sectioned off for the different designers showing at the venue in Lincoln Center. Nicky Zimmermann was being interviewed and there was a crowd around her trying to listen in. Models were entering and exiting through the back and stylists, hair and makeup artists, and volunteers were all rushing around getting to their next destination.
I can’t wait to come back next season, the energy is contagious and electrifying, I felt so in my element. I’m crossing my fingers that I get to attend the Zimmermann show again next season!
