Happy Tuesday! I have been seeing button front denim mini skirts all over the place lately. I’ve wanted to add one to my wardrobe but hadn’t found one that wasn’t too short. As a mom, I know a denim mini skirt isn’t the most practical piece of clothing to own. That’s why I got rid of the mini skirts I owned prior to Mason, since they were getting no wear and just taking up valuable space in my closet. But, I knew if I found one that wasn’t too short I was going to have to get it.
In walks this little number from Ann Taylor LOFT. I found it during my recent trip to the Gilroy Premium Outlets for their Summer of Likes VIP shopping event. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a denim skirt that day but when I saw it in the window I had to check it out. Thankfully for me, it wasn’t too short and I felt like I could sit and move around in it. I won’t be chasing Mason around the park in this skirt but I will be reserving it for more low key activities where I know Mason will be more contained or “mom time.”
This cute bell sleeve top is also from LOFT. I bought it in a size small but really should have gotten it in an XS. It’s perfect for tucking into pants or skirts but it looks too baggy untucked. The rick rack trim on the sleeves is a nice detail that takes this top from being basic to chic. It’s what drew me to this top in the first place. That and the bell sleeves of course. I’m a sucker of a fun sleeve detail, as you all know! And I seem to have a thing for rick rack trim detailing right now…case and point one of my fave dresses this summer.
