As soon as September 1st rolled around I was ready to celebrate all things fall! Now the weather has had other ideas, and so I have been working in my fall style even in warm weather. I know that there are parts of the country that stay super warm most of fall and so I figured I’d share my tips on how to dress for fall even in warm weather.
10 Tips for how to dress for fall even in warm weather:
1. Wear your summer clothes that are in fall colors like yellow, green, red, brown, cream, taupe, and black.
2. Layer a light weight cardigan over a cami and shorts.
3. Lightweight flannels are a great layering piece and also looks great tied around your waist.
4. Try wearing a knit tank or bodysuit with your favorite bottoms when it’s not really sweater weather.
5. Wear your fall ankle boots and booties with shorts and skirts. It will make your outfit look fall appropriate while still staying cool enough for the outside warmer temps.
6. Linen transitions great from summer into fall especially when paired with a denim jacket, leather Moto, or knit cardigan.
7. Add a breathable fall layer over a summer dress so you still keep cool and comfortable but have a cozy fall vibe.
8. Wear a mini or midi skirt with a sweater so your bare legs keep you cooler.
9. Wear a monochromatic outfit in a neutral. Monochrome looks just give me more of a fall/winter vibe and if you can mix textures it will definitely feel seasonally appropriate even if the weather isn’t cooperating.
10. Wear a sweater belted over a slip dress or style with a duster cardigan. The silk and knit together is always a beautiful combination and the airiness of the slip should keep you from overheating.
Bonus tip: When shopping for cashmere there are so many different options. Pay attention to the Ply and Gauge of the cashmere. This will determine how thick and warm your cashmere is as well as overall quality. You want to make sure it’s at least 2-ply and if you want to be able to wear cashmere even in warmer states look from smaller gauge cashmere’s so that they aren’t too warm.
