For my third day of shows I wore this adorable off the shoulder button-down top tucked into my metallic pleat skirt. If you recall, I wore this exact skirt to NYFW in February of 2016. I love how I styled it then with my colorblock sweater, navy tights, and suede booties but I think I like it even more with these furry mules and grey pinstripe top. This is the first time that I’ve worn flats to NYFW. I’ve traveled in flats or sandals before sometimes even boots but I’ve never worn flats to a show until this season. My feet were killing me after two days of wearing nothing but heels so I wanted to give my feet a rest during the day and these fur mules are enough of a statement that I didn’t feel under dressed.
After a few shows I had another backstage access with Aveda for TOME. I’ve loved the collections in seasons past but have never actually seen a show live so I was excited for the opportunity. It was a small backstage area and was pretty crowded so I wasn’t able to get a close up of many of the looks but I did get to see hair and makeup. I got a fishtail braid from the same Aveda stylist who did my hair the day before at Tibi. I wanted the hair away from my face so that you could really feature the top. I love it with my beaded pom drop earrings too. I just wish it was easy for me to give myself a fishtail braid so I could wear my hair like this more often. It would sure cut back on the amount of times Mason rips out or grabs my hair!
