A while back I shared the inspiration behind what is going to be Mason and Cooper’s shared brother bedroom. Mason opted for a Safari themed room and I ran with it. Not only did I purchase a bunch of pieces that fit the safari theme I also created an accent wall with the help of my dad. Cooper will not be sleeping in their shared room for quite a while but since I have it cleaned up and organized I figured I’d better share now before Mason’s toys have taken over the entire floor space in their room, as they usually do.
From my initial mood board for their shared brother bedroom, I purchased all but a few decor pieces. I am not sure if I am going to get the rest of the items or just keep their room as is now. One of the transformations that has made a big impact was adding peel and stick wall paper on the outside of Mason’s Ikea Kura bed panels. It use to be royal blue on the outside and didn’t fit with the theme but a quick fix and it fits in seamlessly. Mason has already requested a photo of Mason and Cooper together be added to their room somewhere, which of course I find beyond precious and sweet that he loves the newborn photos of them as much as I do!
Along with the room decor and accent wall, we also upgraded their closet so that there is a lot more storage. I’m excited to finally share the finished closet with you. My dad did the demo for us as well as put together the Ikea closet we ordered. Now the boys both have plenty of drawer space without the need for freestanding dressers which would take up way too much floor space in their room. I am so happy with how it turned out, though I am a little concerned as they get older that we won’t have enough hanging space for them. We may need to remove the shelves in the middle and put in another clothes rod so they have more room to hang their clothes. Thankfully, it is fully customizable.
What do you think of their shared brother bedroom? If your kids share a room, do they have a theme? And if so, what theme did they go with? I always love hearing and seeing what other parents do for their kids bedrooms to make them special and individualized.
