Thanks to my wholesale travel club we were able to book a last minute family trip to North Lake Tahoe. I got a killer deal on our hotel, Northstar Lodge. I booked a luxury suite for us and saved $135 off the lowest price listed online. It’s addicting to search for deals and book trips, even if they’re short. We did a three day, two night trip since Tahoe isn’t too far from us. When we arrived to Northstar Lodge we were pleasantly surprised when they had upgraded our room to a two bedroom, two bathroom family suite. The room was absolutely incredible. I did a short video tour that I posted on our family travel account. Definitely go check it out because walking through the space gives such a better idea of how amazing it was.
Having such a large space for our family was such a treat. I loved that there were fireplaces in each room. It made the rooms feel so warm and inviting. The kitchen was literally a dream! It was so nice to be able to bring food back to our suite. There was a market nearby and so we stocked our fridge and freezer with snacks. I also packed a ton of snacks for Mason which was perfect. He ate almost all of them over the three days. I would HIGHLY recommend Northstar Lodge for your next trip to Tahoe. We will definitely be back!
What drew me to Northstar Lodge, besides the killer savings, was how family friendly it was. I’m all about luxury travel and this 4.5 star resort does not disappoint! There are so many things to do as a family at Northstar Lodge. They have a movie theater that you can reserve for private movie showings. The list of kid friendly movies was so long! In the evenings you can buy s’mores kits and sit around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. Each day there are family friendly activities you can sign up for. Some are free but many of them have a small cost. I felt like the prices were all super reasonable though. The pool area also had a small game room and there was a shallow pool which was perfect for Mason to play around in.
The concierge was able to help us with any outside planning we wanted including providing us with all the family friendly hikes around North Lake Tahoe. The resort is so conveniently located right at the base of Northstar. With so many great options for activities and dining right outside of our hotel room there really was no reason to leave but we did have a few specific activities we did want to do at Donner Lake. I’ve got a post all about what we did during our long weekend. Definitely check that out if you’re looking for family friendly things to do in North Lake Tahoe.
Have you ever stayed at Northstar Lodge?! I’d love to know if you had a similar experience. Or, do you have a favorite resort you and your family always stay at?! Give me the deets, as I’m always up for checking out new places!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you enjoyed this review!!
