Happy Wanderlust Wednesday! I’m super excited for today’s post because I just had the most wonderful staycation with my mama friends this past weekend. We were celebrating one of my best friends who is moving back out of the country next month and so it was a very special weekend. The Dream Inn Santa Cruz was the perfect location for our staycation. We had amazing ocean view rooms, were provided the best customer service, and had a wonderful mom slumber party staying up WAY TOO LATE!
Ever since The Dream Inn underwent a multi-million dollar renovation (2 years ago) I have been wanting to book a night to stay to experience the upgraded iconic, local landmark, hotel. The decor is right up my ally and definitely has all the Santa Cruz vibes your heart could desire. The lobby is beautifully done with a wall full of O’neil surfboards, a community table perfect for their complimentary wine and cheese happy hour, and they have my favorite Verve Coffee, coffee cart to get your latte to-go, take down to the pool, or enjoy on the patio off your room!
I was obsessed with our rooms. We had enough mamas for the weekend that we ended up booking three rooms. Two of which were side by side but the third was on the top floor with vaulted ceilings and was so stunning. My best friend and I were the first to arrive and we were greeted with the most amazing setup of snacks, treats, and bubbly. Once the hotel knew the reason for our stay they went above and beyond to make all our staycation and slumber party dreams come true.
We experienced stormy weather most of the weekend but that didn’t damper our fun one bit! It honestly worked out for the better. We ordered room service and enjoyed each others company in an ultra relaxing setting. The thing about Santa Cruz is that no matter rain or shine being by the ocean it is always beautiful. I think I can safely say we all slept amazingly. The bed and pillows were perfect for me and while I still woke up around 7am (mama habit) I felt so well rested.
I will definitely be planning a staycation at The Dream Inn Santa Cruz again soon! Next time with Justin and maybe Mason too! And thanks to JIFU Travel, I’ll probably be booking sooner rather than later. Booking at wholesale prices is definitely saving me so much money and making it possible for me to do more of these trips.
I’m curious, when you get the opportunity to take a staycation, do you bring the kid/s or leave them with family or a sitter? I truly enjoy taking Mason when we go on trips but sometimes I miss what trips use to be like before having kids.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!
