It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a blog post. I’ve really taken a step back to focus on my family and my latest business venture, Have Need Want Luxury. I’ll have a post up soon with more details on my new business and how you can continue to support me as a loyal reader. But today, I wanted to share the details of Cooper’s first birthday party. We went with Cooper’s First Trip Around the Sun as his birthday party theme and I couldn’t be happier with how it all came together.
I knew that with two boys it was going to be impossible for me to set up for the party myself so I ended up hiring out for the party decor. For Mason’s first birthday party I did the set up myself with the help of my mom and one of my besties who lived just a few blocks from the park where we had it. Justin was home and was able to watch Mason while also running errands for the party like picking up the cake and grabbing some things from his parents house we were borrowing.
Justin was a big help for Cooper’s birthday too, running to pick up the food and drinks for the party, we went super chill with Costco pizzas along with veggie platters, chips salsa and guacamole. For dessert we had cupcakes and smash cake, as well as custom cookies made by my favorite local cookie decorator, Christina’s Cookie Jar. If you are local to the Bay Area and have a party you want custom cookies for I highly recommend her. Her cookies not only look amazing they taste amazing too.
I had purchased a lot of cute sun party decorations from an Etsy seller. She custom made Cooper’s cake sign, as well as banner for his high chair, cupcake toppers, and confetti. I was so impressed with how everything turned out. She did a custom color order and it was spot on. I would highly recommend ordering from her if you decide to recreate Cooper’s party and do a First Trip Around the Sun birthday party. For the rest of the party. decor I went with someone local to do the balloon garlands. She also supplied the wooden arch backdrop and the adorable boho wooden dessert cart. I am so happy I went with outsourcing this because I can’t even imagine having to try and do it all myself.
The rainbow bounce house has been one of my best purchases in 2022. Mason and Cooper love it..well more Mason than Cooper at this point but, we’ve had friends and family over to enjoy it for the past few months as it arrived early from my preorder. It’s so easy to set up and breakdown that we need no special occasion other than a beautiful day to blow it up. I’ve got a code for the bounce house in case you’re wanting one. Use code LAURAADNEY for free shipping on your order and I believe if you combine your bounce house with their new pool you get an additional $30 off but don’t quote me on that! PS they have a pink ombre version if you have girls and a more simpler design with pink, blue, or neutral options.
What do you think of how it all turned out?!
