Alrighty, this is not my first rodeo! I have been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for the past few years and feel like I have a pretty good handle on things, including best practices for shopping the highly anticipated 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This year is the first and probably only year where shopping in store is not even going to be an option depending on where you live in the country. Our indoor malls have shut down again in most areas of California. I believe some Nordstrom’s are still doing curbside pick up (great for ordering online when the sale first opens and picking up in store so you get that instant gratification) but definitely not allowing dressing room try-ons. So, you are going to have to 100% rely on online shopping the sale this year. Or should I put it this way, there’s isn’t the benefit of trying on before you buy like there usually is with shopping in-store.
What does that mean for you? If you love shopping the sale and are not already a Nordstrom card holder, this would be the year to sign up to get one. Even though the online preview starts today, just like with previous years, early access to shop opens up by cardholder status. So it pays to be a cardholder! Nordstrom is also incentivizing cardmembers to shop by offering bonus Nordstrom Notes, and if previous years can tell us anything, cardmembers who shop early access 9 times out of 10 end up getting 10x points during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because of complications shopping online (ie site crashing) and/or product cancellations.

July 24th: 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview (they will not be sending out Anniversary catalogs this year).
August 4th: Nordy Club Icons early access.
August 7th: Nordy Club Ambassadors early access.
August 10th: Nordy Club Influencers early access.
August 13th: Nordy Club Insiders early access.
August 19th: Anniversary Sale opens for public access.
August 31st: Prices go back to retail.
